1. Common Analog Signal Transmission Range
表格
| Signal Type | Standard Voltage/Current | Maximum Transmission Distance | Main Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4-20mA Current Signal | DC 4~20mA | Up to 1000m | Strong anti-interference, longest transmission distance |
| 0-10V Voltage Signal | DC 0~10V | 50~150m | Short distance, susceptible to line voltage drop |
| 0-5V Voltage Signal | DC 0~5V | 30~80m | Weak signal, limited transmission length |
| 0-20mA Current Signal | DC 0~20mA | 800m | Stable performance, widely used in industrial sites |
2. Core Reason for Distance Difference
Current signal: Loop current keeps constant, free from wire resistance voltage drop, suitable for long-distance delivery.
Voltage signal: Attenuates obviously with wire length and resistance, only applicable for short-range transmission.
3. Effective Methods to Extend Analog Transmission Distance
Prioritize Current SignalReplace 0-5V/0-10V voltage signal with 4-20mA current signal, the most reliable way for long distance.
Use Shielded CableAdopt twisted-pair shielded wire, ground the shield layer at single end to cut electromagnetic interference.
Reduce Line ResistanceSelect wire with larger cross-sectional area; shorten wiring path and avoid excessive wire bending.
Install Signal IsolatorAdd isolation transmitter in the middle of the line to regenerate and amplify signal.
Avoid Parallel WiringKeep away from high-power cables, motors and frequency converters to prevent signal distortion.
Adopt Digital TransmissionConvert analog signal to RS485 Modbus signal, support transmission over 1500 meters.
4. Selection Suggestion
Within 50m: 0-5V / 0-10V voltage signal is acceptable
50~800m: Choose 4-20mA current signal preferentially
Over 800m: Use digital communication transmission mode
